The pandemic infection of coronavirus has now spread out to more than 100 countries. People all over the world are in a state of panic due to the increasing number of people getting infected by the disease. Though the mortality rate is said to be much lesser, the panic is mainly due to the contagious nature of the virus.
As per the reports and the information, the epicenter of the virus is Wuhan in China. Though the people in China are now free from the infection, the virus has migrated and spread out to more than 100 countries across the world today.
What is Coronavirus?
Coronavirus is a group of zoonotic virus that has the feature of getting transmitted from animals to humans. The virus can cause small issues such as cold and fever and can stretch up to higher ailments soon such as respiratory issues. When the illness takes a higher troll, it can cause several severe situations such as chronic pneumonia, kidney failure, and other issues, that can lead to death.
The virus can get transmitted from one person to another through contact and especially through respiratory droplets of the infected person. Normally, when a person gets infected, it can take up almost 5 to 14 days to show off the symptoms.
The actual history of coronavirus can be traced back to 2002 when such kind of a virus was transmitted from civet cats to humans. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome or SARS – CoV affected 21 countries, infecting more than 2500 people with death of approximately 860 people.
Similarly, in the year 2012, a virus got transmitted to humans from dromedary camels in Middle East. The Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS – CoV) infected 8,098 people in around 17 countries with around 744 deaths.
The recent one is Covid – 19 that has infected lakhs of people in different countries and daily new cases are coming up from different corners of the world. As of now no vaccination or medicine is available to deal with the virus. In this situation, the only way to tackle it is to take plenty of precautions to stay away from it.
