As per the Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma created the whole world. One of the strangest things to be noted is that you may find temples for various gods and goddesses all over India, but it is said that there are rare temples of Lord Brahma. One such rare sacred place to find the temple of Lord Brahma is Pushkar in Rajasthan.
The name Pushkar and its location
It is said and believed as per the Hindu mythology that once a lotus flower dropped down from the hands of Lord Brahma and this created the Pushkar Lake. The area around the lake is known as Pushkar now. It is believed that all Hindus should definitely visit Pushkar at least once in a lifetime.
Pushkar is about 11 kms away from the famous city of Ajmer. The two sacred locations Ajmer and Pushkar are divided by the Snake Mountain or better known as the Nag Pahar.
The majestic beauty
There is something about Rajasthan that attracts tourists from all over the world every year. Pushkar, though is a small place in Rajasthan, but still it has some majestic beauty folded in it. The huge Pushkar Lake is the main attraction due to its beautiful rippling water. It is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats.
Another main attraction of the place is the Brahma temple, though you will be able to witness a number of other temples also colored in milky bluish theme. Often you will be able to listen to the mantra enchanting and prayer songs religiously going on in various temples and also at the side of the Pushkar Lake.

Pushkar is just 11 kms away from Ajmer and hence the best way to reach Pushkar is through Ajmer. There are now many trains connecting Ajmer railway station to other parts of the country. From Ajmer, Pushkar is about an hour distance through roadways.
For people travelling via airways, need to get down at the Jaipur airport and from there they can use roadways to directly reach Pushkar.
